DAM:
In CQ, you can only create a folder within the DAM.
Websites:
Within the site admin (Websites area), you can only create nodes - or files – within CQ.
When you create a file, you are creating a node. When you create a node in your root level folder (i.e. “alumni_relations”) this is called a parent node. The parent node can act like a folder.
Within that parent node/file, you can create a child node/file. Think of a parent node like a folder that contains children nodes i.e. files.
Here is an example of the process for creating parent nodes or “folders“:
1. Within the root folder “alumni_relations”, create a parent file (node): ‘Events’
2. Once the ‘Events’ file/node is created, select ‘Events’ from the left pane by clicking on it once
3. Then, create a “child” file called ‘index’ within ‘Events’ (parent) and you have essentially created a folder (Events) and a file (index)
